RESEARCH INTEREST
My current research interests center around studies of the role of magnetism within the high-Tc cuprate superconductors. Specifically, the role of spin fluctuations within the superconducting mechanism of the notably unstudied electron-doped cuprates. The evolution of the spin dynamics in these materials as the system is tuned towards an optimal superconductor represents a key study in my thesis. Additionally, I am interested in the role of quantum criticality in both the high-Tc cuprates and other non-Fermi Liquid systems. Systems, which I am currently studying, are the high-Tc cuprate Pr1-xLaCexCuO4 and the heavy fermion metal Sc1-xUxPd3. Other interests include quantum critical fluctuations within Ca-doped SrRuO4 and newly developing picture of magnetism in the superconducting sodium cobaltite system.
